About the Event
Our November 22nd concert, 7pm concert showcases three great romantic orchestral works.
Originally written as incidental music to Lermontov's drama of the same name, Khachaturian's vibrant Masquerade Suites simply full of romanticism.
Shostakovich's second Piano Concerto was written for his nineteen year old son Maxim. With its delightful slow movement and fierly finale, it has become a firm favourite with audiences. The concert ends with Tchaikovsky's epic and emotionally charged Pathetique Symphony No.6, his last and many would argue his greatest completed symphony.
