About the Event
Romantic Masterpieces brings you three of the greatest romantic works ever written:
Tchaikovsky’s emotionally-charged Romeo and Juliet Overture is a most wonderful, dramatic musical depiction of the tragedy of the star-crossed lovers.
Brilliant London-based pianist Yulia Chaplina returns to The Anvil stage to perform Rachmaninov’s beautiful and ever-popular Piano Concerto No.2 with the orchestra.
The concert concludes with what is probably Dvořák’s most famous Symphony – No.9 ‘From the New World’ with its sublime slow movement featuring the lovely cor anglais solo which was made even more popular by an advertisement for Hovis bread!
