About the Event
In the 'Classical Pops' concert the orchestra will perform some of the most popular music in the orchestral repertoire. Our pieces include, the overture to Mozart's last opera, 'The Magic Flute'. Tchaikovsky's emotionally-charged 5th Symphony has become an all-time favourite and is regarded by many as one of his greatest works. And ending with Beethoven's last and arguably greatest piano concerto, 'the Emperor', being performed by the dynamic, young South Korean pianist Nurry Lee is the soloist for this performance. Nurry studied at Wells Cathedral School and the Royal College of Music where she has recently been awarded the Milstein Scholarship to study for her master's degree.
