About the Event

Internationally acclaimed violinist Braimah Kanneh-Mason joins the orchestra for Beethoven's Violin Concerto in D Major, Op 61, one of the most celebrated works in the violin repertoire. The programme opens with Wagner's Prelude to Tristan and Isolde, a landmark of romantic music and includes Butterworth's A Shropshire Lad, an evocative orchestral work inspired by A. E, Housman's poetry and ends with Grieg Peer Gynt Suite No 2.
