Playing Members' Page

The 60-strong orchestra meets regularly on Friday nights in Basingstoke. Anyone interested in membership should contact the Personnel Secretary, Anne Smith. Other communication can be made via our contact page on this web site.

This page contains useful information for playing members of Basingstoke Symphony Orchestra regarding the current season's rehearsals and concerts, and plans for the future.

Rehearsals are on Fridays from 7.30 pm to 9.30 pm in Basingstoke.

Occasionally rehearsals are held at other venues and these will be posted on this page for reference.

An information sheet explains various aspects of orchestra life, rehearsals and concerts to members.

The orchestra is a Registered Charity, governed by a Constitution and a committee, on which the various roles are defined in the Committee Roles document.

The committee gives guidance about what is expected from the members and how the committee will govern the orchestra in the BSO Rules.

And finally, there are separate policies for the different sections of the orchestra: Strings, Woodwind, Brass and Percussion.

In case you are interested, there are some graphs of rehearsal attendance comparing different sections of the orchestra in this document: Rehearsal attendance graphs.
