We really did have a fabulous time; musically it went really well, and perhaps more importantly it was a very successful social event. It was very clear that this will not be the last time that we visit Alençon; everybody in the orchestra enjoyed it so much they were already planning the return trip on the coach home!
On behalf of the orchestra I would like to say a big thank you to all the members of the Harmonie for their hospitality, the Mayor and the people of Alençon for receiving us so warmly and Basingstoke and Deane Council Twinning Fund for the generous grant that helped to finance the whole visit.
